Illustrator Shapes Extermination
07.09.17
In adobe illustrator we started off creating faces with
different shapes. I made the face using mostly the ellipse tool for the head,
eyes, nose and the pacifier. For the little strand of hair, I used the
curvature tool.
PEN TOOL ILLUSTRATOR
07.09.17
This is a fish I made in lllustrator using the pen tool. Before using the pen tool, I clicked shape, selected a rectangle, made the colour of the shape a gradient blue, and placed it on the background. This is show the fish would look like it's in the sea. I then selected the pen tool, and began to create this fish. I made it a 1pt red stroke without fill and selected on the background. I then clicked and dragged around to create the fish, doing simple clicks at each point. Once the fish was created I selected it and gave it a colour. Afterwards, I copied the fish, pasted more of them, used free transform to make them smaller and gave the different colours respectively.

Typing on a Curve & 3D extrude
In this lesson, we learnt how to type in a curve using illustrator.
Firstly, I clicked on I selected the curvature tool. I then
clicked on the certain points on the background to create the curve. I also
made the colour white, so the black spaces around the curve weren’t showing. I
then typed on the curve, creating this.
I also used the 3D rotate and extrude tool which was done by
typing my name first, afterwards, I clicked on effect, then 3d and finally on 3D
rotate and extrude.
After
this popped up I selected OK, and got the text to be 3D.
MEDIA PASSPORT
14.09.17 This is a passport cover, I made on illustrator.
First, I chose the rectangle in the shape tool and picked this color. I originally chose a brown pattern but I didn’t believe it looked good and believed this color would be much more suitable.
I then added text using the text tool on the left-hand toolbar and typed in Media, and Password both in different colors respectively. I then made the text bold and re-sized to make it big.
I then selected the shape tool, made it stars and put it around the media passport. For each star I lowered the opacity, believing it would look much better.
After doing that, I then went on the symbol panel and used the flower symbol.
Finally, I made the two texts bevelled by going to Effect, selected 3D and Extrude & Bevel. I believe this went well because I managed to use many different techniques to make this passport photo look good.
Photoshop Layer Mask
11/9/17
This is a layer mask I made on Photoshop.
This is a layer mask I made on Photoshop.
Firstly, I imported this photo of Snoop Dogg on the internet, and used the rectangle marquee tool and put it around his head and shoulders, went to image and pressed crop.
Now with the photo cropped, I zoomed in using the magnifier icon. I then selected images then clicked adjustments and finally pressed black and white.
Now with the photo black and white, I went to image, adjustments and this time, brightness and contrast.
I moved the brightness and contrast up to make the image look like this.
Afterwards, I clicked image, adjustments, and hue/saturation. When the box popped up on the screen I moved the color to green.
With the color now green, I went on the layer above, without the hue\saturation and gave it a layer mask. On the layer mask, I used the paintbrush and drew all over its face; making the image look like this.
This is the final product of the photo.
This is a layer mask, I made on Photoshop. We went to the photo-booth and took high contrast photo. After the photo was uploaded to the media drive, I took and put it into Photoshop.
I then right clicked one of the layers and I duplicated it. This is so I can protect the original photo. Once I did that I made the photo black and white, by going onto image, adjustments and desaturate. This was to make the photo black and white.
PHOTOSHOP ADDING A LAYER MASK
18.09.17
Firstly, I used the rectangle marquee and put it around my head and shoulders. This was so I could crop it, and focus on that part of my face and body.
I then cropped it by selecting image and crop.
I then made another layer, used the paint bucket tool and put it on the portrait.
I moved the layer above the new layer I made.
Finally, I added the layer mask to the layer.
Low key Contrast
18.09.17
In this lesson, he took a photo from the photo booth and edited it on Photoshop.
Firstly, I took one of the photos from the Media Drive and placed it onto Photoshop.
I then right clicked one of the layers and I duplicated it. This is so I can protect the original photo. Once I did that I made the photo black and white, by going onto image, adjustments and desaturate. This was to make the photo black and white.
Finally, I made another layer, went to image, adjustments and brightness and contrast. When the box came, I changed the brightness to 6 and the contrast to 24.
Background Layer Mask
This is a layer mask I made on Photoshop for the photo we took at the photo booth
This is a layer mask I made on Photoshop for the photo we took at the photo booth
25/09/17
Firstly I placed the photo I took in the photo booth, onto Photoshop and selected image and crop. I did this to remove the white background.
After that, I duplicated the layer and gave it a layer mask.
After adding the layer mask, I made a new layer and pasted a background of New York.
I then used the Polygonal Lasso and put it around my photo.
After doing that, I selected inverse which made the lasso go around the background.
To not damage my photo, I duplicated the layer.
Travel Log
20.10.17
In
this lesson we made a merged two places together.
Firstly I pasted an image from Africa into Photoshop.
I then got another photo of the Big Ben, used the free transform tool to scale it down and put it above the first layer.
Finally I used the background eraser tool, to erase the
background.
Old and New London - Layer Mask
25.09.17
25.09.17
I moved the layer without the black and white and put it on the first layer
I then got a photo from another street, this time from the 1900s.
I moved the layer without the black & white to the top and gave it a layer mask. After moving it to the top layer, I click on the white background in the layer mask and then clicked the paint brush. I then increased the size of the paint brush by clicking on the icon below edit on the top bar and increasing the size from there. Using the paint brush with the increased size, I changed the color to black and drew all over the building on the right.
Finally, I placed another photo of a street from the 1900s with children and moved the layer to the top. I then gave that a layer mask and used the polygonal lasso to cut around the background.
